The Main Camp facility serves two distinct roles - running four weeks of program camps for our own Jr. High and Sr. High summer camps, and also serving as host to a variety of youth and family camps which use Sugar Pine as a rental facility.

Food Service:

(For both Main Camp and Timber Mountain facilities)

Kitchen Assistant

Ability to have fun and work hard are a must.

Assists cook in preparing meals and all that is involved with meal times. Includes dish washing, general clean-up of kitchen, and all aspects of food preparation.

Must have a positive attitude, a willingness to do routine indoor work, and the ability to work efficiently as a vital part of this ministry.

Stocker/Kitchen Assistant

Organizes and stocks kitchen and meal supplies. Follows all the guidelines of a kitchen assistant.

Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.

Facilities:

Accommodations

Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working as team player. Knowledge of basic custodial procedures is beneficial.

Duties include setting up meeting rooms, trash management, cleaning walkways, general cleaning, housing accommodations, and restrooms.

Employee must be able to frequently lift/carry 25 pounds.

Facilities Assistant

Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Duties involve general camp maintenance and may include trenching, digging, raking, mowing and wood-cutting. Must be able to take initiative, work hard, and assume significant responsibilities.

Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds.

Guest Relations:

Events Staff

Duties include providing safe and quality instruction in any of the following activity areas: Rock Climbing, Life guarding, High & Low Ropes Courses, Paintball, Boating, & Equipment Rental.

Outgoing personalities that can provide a safe and fun atmosphere for all events, and able to integrate issues of faith and spiritual growth to activities at hand.

Maintain the upkeep of activity equipment and supplies. Assist in the leadership of field games, night hikes, and camp recreation.

While Lifeguard Training Certificate, Standard First Aid, CPR, Waterfront Certification and experience in the above activities is preferred, Sugar Pine will provide training in ALL of the events listed above for applicants hired for these positions.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, in good health, and be prepared for a physically challenging summer.

Snack Bar

Assists in running the gift store/snack bar by operating cash register, maintaining cash receipts and other bookkeeping duties.

Includes maintaining stock and keep store clean. Must have a pleasant personality and enjoy meeting the public. Sales and customer service experience preferred.

Guest Group Host/Hostess

Facilitates Groups/Program Camps by providing the necessary service to help their camps run smoothly.

Works with management in preparing for camp details each week, setting up meeting rooms to specifications (audio/visual equipment). Becomes the liaison between the guest groups and camp management. Must have good relational skills, multi-task abilities, as well as administrative, organizational, and computer skills (PC/MAC). Ministry experience desired.

Program Team: (July 19-August 15)

Program/Rec Staff

We're looking for a couple of enthusiastic people to help with running games and program events at 4 weeks of Sugar Pine camps - 2 junior high and 2 senior high.

Individuals should possess good "up-front" and organizational skills. Prefer applicants to have previous ministry experience and have completed at least one year of college. If you have the energy, we have the position for you!

Lead Counselors

Looking for responsible, ministry-minded people to support the camp counselors and deal with camper issues.

Lead Counselor roles include encouraging and supporting counselors, discipline, and just being with the campers.

A/V Tech

Member of the host team whose responsibilities include digital photography, powerpoint, video editing and basic sound setup.

Responsible for creating visual presentations using digital photos and digital video for program camps. Will also fulfill some duties of program staff.

Positions Available - Timber Mountain

Timber Mountain is Sugar Pine's Junior Camp, specializing in summer programs for 3rd-6th grade campers. At Timber Mountain everyone is a part of the kid-ministry!

If you love God, love kids, and have lots of energy and creativity to share, this is the place for you!

Rec Coordinator

Plan, coordinate, and direct all aspects of recreation at Timber Mountain.

Help lead the program team and delegate responsibilities effectively. Good people skills and up-front abilities necessary. Must be a self-starter, fun-loving, and willing to go the extra mile to make the camp program safe and exciting. Prefer applicants to have some leadership experience and have completed at least two years of college.

Worship Leader

Choose and lead a variety of songs for our outdoor morning and indoor evening chapel times and campfires.

Must have the ability to lead groups of 3rd-6th grade students in worship, and have excellent accompanying skills on the guitar. Be able to explain what worship is and why we do it.

Will also serve as a member of the program team. Must be a team player, quality musician, and have an evident, contagious love for Christ. We desire that applicants have experience in leading worship and at least two years of college completed.

Counselor/Program Team

Team members will rotate between serving as a counselor and as a member of the program team.

Counselor responsibilities include: being responsible for his/her campers, living with campers for a week at a time, leading campers in cabin time devotions and assisting in the planning and implementing program and recreation.

Program Team responsibilities may include: planning and facilitating recreation, being involved in skits and chapel games, running Timber Peak, crafts, working with A/V equipment such as Powerpoint and digital photography, as well as other elements of the camp program. Looking for team players who are God-loving, self-starting, and kid-friendly (it doesn't hurt to be a little crazy).

Prefer applicants to have completed one year of college, and have previous ministry experience.

Crafts/Program

Responsible for leading and organizing the camp crafts.

Must maintain a tidy craft center and lead all craft times for campers. Team member will also serve on the program team. Must be a self starter, a willing team member and have a heart for the Lord and the campers that he/she will come into contact with.

Lifeguard

Responsible for pool and pond areas during activity times.

Helps maintain the pool and assists with recreational activities. Serves as a member of the program team. Must hold current lifesaving and CPR certificates for duration of summer. Must be at least 18 years of age. Sugar Pine will provide lifeguard training if necessary.

Nurse

Responsibilities involve overseeing the health needs of campers.

Aids campers with minor cuts, scratches and bruises. Refers campers to area doctors and contacts parents when necessary. Must relate well with campers and parents. Must have a current CPR certificate.

Should be enrolled in Nursing program, have nursing experience, or hold a valid EMT certificate in Madera County. If a nursing student, individual should have completed one year of his/her nursing curriculum.
