Summer Team 2024  / Job Descriptions

Join the Sugar Pine Summer Team of 2024. This summer all of our summer team will be cross-trained in a variety of areas. What a great opportunity to learn new skills and be connected to a team of like-minded people! All of our team members will be involved in Bible study and devotional times, as well as opportunities for fun like lake days, weekly team get togethers, hiking in Yosemite and so much more. Team members will work in the following areas: kitchen, accommodations, lifeguarding, adventure recreation, programs, retail and guest services. Below are basic job descriptions of each job area.

  • AccommodationsEveryone will help with Accommodations at Sugar Pine by cleaning cabins, meeting spaces and restrooms. General trash maintenance and laundry upkeep are also a part of this job. We have fun as we prepare and take care of the camp for all of our guests in Accommodations!
  • Adventure RecreationAdventure Recreation assistants provide safe and fun experiences at our Ropes Course, Zipline, Archery Tag, and our BB gun / Archery courses. Training will be done on site and team members can expect to rotate through all of the activities throughout the summer.
  • A/V TechAV Tech(s) assist in running sound at our chapels, gather and create media content for use on social networks and in person viewing, and help with all load in/outs for bands. Individuals will need to be proficient in making videos on platforms of choosing.
  • Guest ServicesTeam members will enjoy serving our guests by answering phones, meeting guest needs, helping keep the camp clean and a variety of other administrative responsibilities.
  • Kitchen – Kitchen assistants will have the opportunity to help prepare meals for guests, clean up after meals through dishwashing and general cleaning, and maintain a clean and efficient Dining Hall facility.
  • LifeguardsMany of our team members will be selected to be a lifeguard. Lifeguard classes are taken prior to camp. Our lifeguards play an important safety role to guard our swimming pool and ensure our guests have a great experience.
  • ProgramsTeam members will get to lead games and activities for our programmed youth and kids camps. High energy, ability to take initiative and complete tasks, and great organizational skills are a must in this role.
  • RetailRetail Assistants will help run our Café where guests can purchase snacks, gifts and souvenirs during their stay at Sugar Pine. Team members will be trained to prepare food and run the register for purchases.
  • Worship LeaderEnjoy leading worship with a guitar or keys?  We’d love to have you use your skills to grow our team spiritually throughout the summer.

All positions will require a current First Aid/CPR certificate, and California Food Handlers Permit after hire.

All summer positions can expect to work in many different departments on a regular basis.

Priority given to applicants ages 18 and over.
